Are you looking for a simple way to redesign your home’s decor?  If you have recessed can lighting in your kitchen or bathroom – well this Ohio decorator has a project for you.  Recently, a number of easy-to-install pendant light kits have hit the market and they make changing your recessed lighting as easy as “screwing in a light bulb”.

First, you simply remove the existing trim ring around your can light, wrap the pendant cord around the light socket adapter so your pendant hangs at your desired heigth and then screw the socket adapter in like a light bulb.   Then, a cover plate slides in place to cover the old fixture and you simply screw on your chosen glass shade.

Helpful tip – have your tape measure ready if you are hanging more than one pendant and want them all to be the exact same height.

There is a shade option available for any style – from craftsman to contemporary.   If you google “screw in pendant lights” you will find many online retailers that offer the kits.  Online, the kits can be found at Worth Home Products.  Here in Columbus, Ohio I found them at Lowe’s and prices range between $50 and $60 per pendant depending on which shade you select.
